TSA Again Misses Deadline for Scanning Cargo on International Flights

Friday, November 04, 2011
Twice now the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has failed to meet a deadline mandated by Congress to inspect 100% of all cargo on international U.S.-bound passenger planes. Following recommendations made by the commission that investigated the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, Congress passed the Implementing Recommendations of the 9/11 Commission Act of 2007. One of the sections of the law ordered the TSA to make sure it could screen all packages on inbound flights by August 2010. After missing that deadline, agency leaders promised to meet a new one by the end of 2011. But that’s not going to happen, says TSA, which is only inspecting “identified high-risk” parcels. Members of Congress are now demanding answers.

so tsa is continuing to allow 60% of the of the cargo hold contents to go unscreened but molesting the passengers sitting on top of them. there is hardly any benefit in groping grandmothers and children if literally tons of explosive can make it aboard aircraft just by sending them in a dhl, ups or fedex package. tsa is a disgrace and also dangerous and those responsible for this criminal malfeasance need to be prosecuted for this travesty.
