Bush Invaded Iraq on a Mission from God

The Vision of Ezekiel by Raphael
During the run-up to the 2003 invasion of Iraq, President George W. Bush and members of his administration gave a variety of justifications for military action, which can best be summed up as “Saddam Hussein has chemical and biological weapons and even nuclear weapons that he plans to give to Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda who will then smuggle them into the United States and kill tens of thousands of people.” Opponents of the invasion suspected Bush was actually motivated by a desire to control Iraq’s large oil reserves. However, according to reports out of Switzerland and France, President Bush appears to have been inspired by another source: Biblical prophecy.

Apparently, while trying to drum up international support for the invasion of Iraq, Bush placed a phone call to the president of France, Jacques Chirac, and presented a series of arguments to convince the French president to join Bush’s “Coalition of the Willing.” In the course of the conversation, according to an English-language translation, Bush told Chirac, “Gog and Magog are at work in the Middle East…. The Biblical prophecies are being fulfilled…. This confrontation is willed by God, who wants to use this conflict to erase his people’s enemies before a New Age begins."

Chirac, a Catholic, didn’t understand what Bush, an Evangelical Christian, was talking about, and asked his staff to find out who Gog and Magog were and what they meant to the U.S. president. Chirac’s staff contacted the Biblical Service of the French Federation of Protestants, who in turn called Thomas Römer, a Professor of Theology at the University of Lausanne and a specialist in the Old Testament. Römer was asked to prepare a one-page report on the subject of Gog and Magog to be shown to the president of France.

Römer maintained silence about the incident until Chirac left office in May 2007, after which the professor revealed the story in an interview with the University of Lausanne’s school magazine, Allez savoir!. Earlier this year, Chirac confirmed the story in a book, Si vous le répétez, je démentirai... : Chirac, Sarkozy, Villepin [If You Repeat It, I’ll Deny It] by Jean-Claude Maurice.

So, for those to whom the allusion is not obvious, what did Bush mean when he referred to Gog and Magog? Gog and Magog appear in the prophetic Book of Ezekiel 38-39, and the section is open to various interpretations. Gog is the human personification of evil who will lead a multinational invasion of Israel from the north and be defeated, with great violence, by God, who will restore Israel’s security. Magog refers to the land from which Gog hails. To George Bush, Gog and Magog probably meant the ultimate future battle between the forces of good and the forces of evil, a battle that had been predicted more than 2,500 years earlier, but whose time had finally come.

Chirac, who had sent French troops to support Bush’s 2001 invasion of Afghanistan, was not convinced this time, and refused to join Bush’s Coalition of the Willing.

When George Bush Sr. and George Bush Jr. were initiated into the Order of Skull and Bones (a Satanic death cult imported to Yale university from Germany by pre-WWII Nazis who would later gain control of their country - read the book by Anthony Sutton), everyone is given a nom de guerre. Magog and Gog are their Skull and Bones names. The Bushes are not Christians. Their patchwork quilt of politicaly spinned imagery included the semblance of Christianity, but only for the sake of the voting masses and gaining the necessary alliances. Also in the name of passing blame for their defaming performance over onto 'evangelical christianity'. They don't care - they know they are untouchable. Their religion is luciferian and they hope Chritianity gets its image marred in the process. In the meantime the New Testament istself never prescribes war to spread it's doctrines. NEVER AND NOWHERE IN IT. Therefore no offensive war of combat is ever doctrinaly a 'crusade' - not even the so called crusades themselves. (The same cannot be said for other religions - you do the math.) In the article: "George W., Knight of Eulogia: A rare look inside Skull and Bones, the Yale secret society and sometime haunt of the presumptive Republican nominee for President", by Alexandra Robbins, The Atlantic Online, May, 2000 we read: "New members of Skull and Bones are assigned secret names, by which fellow Bonesmen will forever know them ... The name Long Devil is assigned to the tallest member; Boaz (short for Beelzebub) goes to any member who is a varsity football captain ... Averell Harriman was Thor, Henry Luce was Baal, McGeorge Bundy was Odin. The name Magog is traditionally assigned to the incoming Bonesman deemed to have had the most sexual experience, and Gog goes to the new member with the least sexual experience. William Howard Taft and Robert Taft were Magogs. So, interestingly, was George Bush." [Senior that is - H.W. aka 'Jr.' was one of the Gogs. The 'Temporary' name rumor is a bunch of baloney derived to disacociate the issue of the meaning behind the name relationship. Magog is the land and Gog is the one who proceeds from that land. Juniors status as Gog is easily inferred here as he is the product of 'Magog' who is his father.] Biblically Gog and Magog are the enemies of Israel - that is true - but remember that the Skull and Bones (again a secret German Death cult) is ardently covertly anti-Israel. Therefore the actual status of the Bushes being Magog and Gog makes more sense. When the Bushes say things like: "Gog and Magog are at work in the Middle East..." one ought to take a second look at what they are really saying. They can say that God is willing this confrontation, but what "God" are they talking about. My guess is that in their own mind, they are calling lucifer God. Don't be surprised if they pass themselves off as Christians. This kind of thing has been done since the beginning of Christianity. These men have enough worldly power that they feel untouchable and therefore have no problem with this following fact; they know masses of people are going to be outraged at their despicable acts. They want both the United States people who defend the Constitution and the Christians who live freely here to be demonized by all of it. Therefore they wrap themselves in an American flag and carry a Bible. It's easy.

Anon is completely wrong about the Bush admin not claiming Hussein had WMDs. Just Google Colin Powell's speech before the UN where he outlined the administration's allegations that Hussein had tons of this and huge amounts of that and mobile weapons labs, and drone aircraft that could strike the US coast, ad nauseum. None of these allegations were even remotely correct. Saddam Hussein had destroyed all of his WMD capacity in 1992. If the blogger is correct, and Bush actually did tell Chirac we were fulfilling Biblical Prophecy then he was a far more dangerous man than we even suspected. Many a crazed leader has totally destroyed his own country in a mad quest to fulfill prophesy. And if you have convinced yourself that you are "doing God's work" and "fulfilling prophesy" it is virtually impossible to convince you otherwise. I wish the Evangelical Churches in this country would stop focusing so much on apocalyptic visions of the future, and focus more on the core message of Christ--love your neighbor, do good to your enemy, forgive, heal, show compassion. But Americans, who are obsessed with violence to begin with, and fascinated by people who are more "spiritual", (especially prophets) flock to those churches that preach the batty "Left Behind" end-of-the-world messages. If true, these claims made by the blogger would explain a lot. We started a foolish war because our President embraced crazy ideas, and had the hubris to believe he was "doing "God's work".

Born again Christians and all believers should read Daniel Dennets book Breaking the Spell as he suggests all believers should read with an open mind. He suggests what great harm is done when religious people establish theocratic governments be it whatever faith is current.

There are many rational atheist but none that want to assume to role of current government and its control over individuals. What happened to the government protecting individuals and not trying to control them? One man I can think of, Peter Schiff. http://www.peterschiffforsenate.com
