The testimony contradicts statements by alleged al-Qaida member Hassan Guleed in support of bin al Shibh's claims. Guleed, who has been held at Guantanamo since 2006 without charge, said he has experienced the same noises and vibrations in the camp bin al Shibh routinely reports. In 2006 Maior was tapped to head the Romanian Intelligence Service. In 2015, in that capacity, he supported proposals to retain data and personal information on Romanian citizens. He resigned after the country’s high court rejected those proposals. Shortly thereafter, Maior was given the job in Washington.
