When Barack Obama won election as President of the United States, he chose as his National Security Advisor another member of the Chevron board of directors, General James L. Jones. Jones is also a member of the board of directors of Boeing, and president and CEO of the Institute of 21st Century Energy, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s energy lobbying group.
