Everything has got to go! The great space shuttle fire sale has begun, and NASA is slashing prices to move its inventory. For only $28.8 million, the space shuttle Atlantis or Endeavor can be yours. Marked down from an original MSRP of $42 million, the shuttles come with a free used engine, and NASA will deliver the spacecraft to the airport destination of your choice.
The shuttle Discovery is not for sale because it’s being given to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. The Enterprise, a test craft that never flew a space mission, may also be sold if there’s enough interest.
NASA is retiring the shuttle program in favor of deep space missions targeting a return to the moon and a possible voyage to Mars.
