Male Prostitutes Go Legal at Nevada Brothel
Friday, December 18, 2009

Prostitution has been legal in rural Nevada since 1971, but only for customers seeking female companionship. But now Shady Lady Ranch, a brothel located about two hours outside Las Vegas, is preparing to offer the first male prostitutes in state history. Brothels had been barred from employing men for sexual services because of a lack of scientific testing to ensure male prostitutes were free of sexually-transmitted diseases. But now that urethral exams are available, Nevada health officials are allowing men to take up the world’s oldest profession. The new sex workers are expected to service both female and male clients.
