For those desiring an in depth examination of all things stupid, there’s Course 180 offered by Occidental College. The small liberal arts institution in Southern California (which has the distinction of being the college Barack Obama attended for two years before transferring to Columbia University), offers “Stupidity” as part of its Critical Theory and Social Justice major. According to Occidental’s course catalog, in the class students will be subjected to the concept of stupidity as “an artifact of our nature as finite beings and one of the most powerful determinants of human destiny.
