Having embarrassed the federal government repeatedly with thousands of leaked documents, Wikileaks appears poised to go after a major U.S. bank in early 2011. The question is: Which one? Bank of America?

 

In a recent interview with Forbes, Wikileaks founder Julian Assange said his website plans early next year to publish tens of thousands of secret documents obtained from a major American financial institution. “It will give a true and representative insight into how banks behave at the executive level in a way that will stimulate investigations and reforms, I presume,” Assange told Forbes.

 

He refused to say which bank, adding that the revelation would be Enron-like in its impact on exposing the corrupt business practices of the banking industry.

 

But in another interview, given in October 2009 to IDG News Service, Assange stated that Wikileaks had five gigabits of files and other information from Bank of America executive’s hard drive, but he wasn’t sure then how they would publish the material.
