Owners of the iPhone and iPad can now download a target range game, thanks to the National Rifle Association (NRA).

Coming a month after the Newtown school shooting, the phone app simulates shooting practice. Children as young as four can play the game.

The NRA says its Practice Range “strikes the right balance of gaming and education,” while providing “one-touch access to the NRA network of news, laws, facts, knowledge, safety tips, educational materials and online resources.”

App users can shoot using a variety of firearms at different targets, including those shaped like coffins.

The NRA has said that video games and Hollywood—not guns—are largely to blame for the nation’s shooting tragedies.

News of the controversial app came as the Obama White House unveiled its gun control proposals, devised in the wake of the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School, where 26 children and teachers were killed.
