10 Members of Congress and Their Tweets

Leonard Boswell (D-Iowa)
Even members of Congress are not above the navel gazing so many Americans express through their postings on Twitter. Amelia Hassani at OhMyGov! tracked over a period of several months all the U.S. senators and representatives who tweet and then compiled a top 10 list of the “quirkiest” tweeters.
Senator Claire McCaskill (D-Missouri) made the list because she seemed the “most likeable” of congressional tweeters. Others, like Representative Artur Davis (D-Alabama), made it in part because of his obsession with football, while Senator Orin Hatch (R-Utah) has mastered the art of sequential tweets, stringing together one 140-character posting after another to get his points across. John Shimkus (R-Ilinois) begins each day by tweeting a Bible verse.
Hassani gives first place to 76-year-old Leonard Boswell (D-Iowa) for being positive and amusing. For example: “How fun and exciting to watch Shawn Johnson and her partner WIN Dancing with the Stars!”
