Republican Districts Gain More Jobs from Stimulus than Democratic Ones
Wednesday, February 18, 2009
According to estimates released by the White House, each of the 435 Congressional districts in the United States will gain between 6,000 and 11,000 jobs as a result of the just passed stimulus bill. However, strange as it may seem, Republican districts are expected to end up with more jobs per district than Democratic districts, an average of 8,185 to 7,765. It is possible that this is just a statistical coincidence, and it is worth keeping in mind that the numbers are projections, not concrete, verifiable jobs. However, one wonders if the Obama administration purposely helped Republican districts to embarrass the members of Congress who voted against the bill. Stay tuned to see how many jobs actually materialize.
