African-Americans and Jews continue to experience more hate crimes than any other ethnic or religious group in the United States, according to the latest statistics from the FBI. Of the 8,336 hate crime victims in 2009, 2,902 were black and 1,132 were Jewish. In the case of both groups, each accounted for about 71% of the hate crimes motivated by either race or religion. The third most common victims of hate crimes were male homosexuals at 817 and the fourth Hispanics at 692.
