Average Hourly Wage Drops, but Hours Worked Rises

Americans are working longer hours and making less money, according to the latest figures compiled by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. From October to November, real average hourly earnings fell 0.5%, thanks to a modest rise in inflation that offset a tiny bump in wages. Over the past year, real average weekly earnings have dropped by 1.7%. Meanwhile, hours worked during the average week went up .6% from October to November.
